    As a SR. LABOR RELATIONS MANAGER at AUTOKINITON, you will be part of the 2nd largest Body-in-White and frame supplier in North America!

    PURPOSE OF POSITION:

    This role will facilitate and strategically manage labor relations and human resources functions in support of AUTOKINITON’s labor strategy and goals.  This position will report to the Director of HR Operations and Labor Relations.

     

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Analyzes information and data necessary to define and discern cost and policy implications of negotiations and disputes. This may include management and union proposals, pay scales and wages, benefits, working conditions, and other mitigating circumstances.
    • Uses surveys, interviews, and other studies to conduct research regarding human resource policies, compensation, and other employment issues. After analyzing the information, makes recommendations on changes.
    • Researches and explains laws and legal affairs concerning employment and union contracts to managers, supervisors, and employees.
    • Advises and trains managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee grievances. Develops further training as needed.
    • Represents organization in contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with employee and labor organizations.
    • Collaborates with leadership on matters of policy and terms of memoranda of understanding before and throughout negotiation process.
    • Collaborates with legal counsel and departments in the preparation for and participation in negotiation with employee and labor groups.
    • Manages a HR Labor Relations Specialist.

     

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Human Resources or related field required, graduate degree preferred.
    • 5-7 years of professional human resource experience, including 3-5 years in employee or labor relations preferred OR its equivalent through training, education, and other experience.
    • Previous union negotiations experience
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent documentation and record keeping skills
    • Strong MS Office skills, specifically Excel and Power Point
    • Thorough understanding of state and federal laws concerning labor relations and collective bargaining (NLRB, OSHA, EEOC, FLSA, FMLA, etc.)
    • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
    • Thorough understanding of negotiation processes.
    • Thorough understanding of dispute resolution, mediation, arbitration, and compensation administration.
    • Ability to travel 25-50% while involved in active collective bargaining (mainly in the Midwest)
    • Ability to work an unconventional schedule while involved in active collective bargaining
    • This position is not a remote position and will be based at the AUTOKINITON Tech Center
