    MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – CHICAGO BUSINESS UNIT

    Tower International is searching for a candidate to fill Maintenance Technician position in the Chicago, IL facility. In this role, colleagues will be responsible for maintaining equipment to support production; perform preventive maintenance; and keep accurate maintenance records while constantly striving to maintain a goal of zero downtime. To be considered, candidates must have experience and skills in a majority of the areas listed below:

    • Attendance points below 3 or 4. See collective bargaining agreement for eligibility under posting of vacant positions.
    • Knowledge of Robotics (Fanuc)
    • Knowledge of AC motors and variable frequency drives (ABB, Indramat, etc.).
    • Controls knowledge including sealant systems, Allen-Bradley PLC, SLC 500 and RSLogix family of programmable controllers, HMI’s, Device Net and Control Net communications networks.
    • Possess troubleshooting skills with electrical systems along with hydraulic and pneumatic.
    • Must be capable of being licensed to operate industrial maintenance vehicles. Such as forklifts, articulating boom, scissors lifts, and portable cranes.
    • Provide a current resume.
    • Obtain a passing grade on the Maintenance Technician – New Applicant Test
    • Successfully complete an interview within the Maintenance Department.
    • Regular and punctual, in-person attendance, is required.

    Perspective candidates will need to have two (2) or more years of industrial maintenance education and / or experience, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment.

    Candidates should be technically proficient, able to direct maintenance support efforts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and willing to work extended hours including weekends and some holidays when needed.

  • Qualifications
    • Strong portfolio focused in packaging that displays a command of product lines.
    • A strong sense of design and typography while having the ability to grasp client needs and produce practical solutions.
    • 7+ years of packaging production artwork development within the retail or CPG market vertical.
    • 5+ years of packaging creative experience.
    • Extremely detail oriented and experienced in pre-print file preparation.
    • Proven ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
    • Skilled in packaging standards and regulations.
    • Ability to adhere to project deadlines as well as being flexible with multiple changes.
    • Advanced Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop experience as it relates to packaging.
    • Understand dieline construction and printer requirements as it relates to the development of artwork.
    • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail required.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Must possess the ability to produce independently in a team environment.
    • Ability to identify inconsistencies within a given sku in comparison to an overall category.
    • Drawing skills for rough concepts a plus.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or equivalent experience.
