    PURPOSE OF POSITION:

     

    This position will be responsible for managing customer warehouse ripening operations to meet customer requirements and expectations.

     

     

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:

     

    • Oversee all aspects related to the ripening program to ensure compliance with customer ripening requirements and expectations.
    • Perform Ripening Duties for all required products.
    • Routinely review program and staff performance and make corrective actions when necessary.
    • Regularly set and update program expectations and goals to grow business and proactively prevent customer issues.
    • Troubleshoot and address all customer complaints relating to ripening quality.
    • Develop and ensure compliance with departmental budgets focusing on cost maintenance and productivity.
    • Ripen and maintain products according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
    • Perform quality inspections of product upon arrival.
    • Ensure product and location documentation is maintained daily; to include inspection logs, inventory control logs, ripening room logs and warehouse supply logs.
    • Review and reconcile product inventories, monitor stock and rotation of product.
    • Communicate with supervisor on issues related to inventory and product quality; assist with decisions on product disposition.
    • Review current and potential product issues with Del Monte Quality Assurance and Sales team.
    • Work with location warehouse personnel including, customer Quality Assurance department, lift truck drivers, warehouse assistants and foremen to achieve program goals.
    • Execute and complete work assignments, with minimum supervision and errors.
    • Enter data, run reports and assist Supervisor as needed.
    • Make recommendations on improving job skills and knowledge.

     

    MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:

     

    • 4 year degree in a related field, from an accredited institution, and/or equivalent work experience.
    • 2+ years’ previous technical, quality assurance, management or supervisory experience related to produce ripening.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
    • Excellent communication skills (i.e. oral and written).
    • Strong understanding of mathematics and basic science concepts in chemistry, biology, and physics.

     

    PREFERRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

     

     

    • Prior experience in banana/avocado ripening and/or produce warehouse operations, with banana ripening activities or similar.
    • Knowledge of fresh produce transportation, retail produce handling and merchandising, and post harvest handling of fresh produce.

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications

    TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

    • For RNs: Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience. Valid RN License in the State of CT without restriction. May require a CME accreditation in specific specialties
    • Prior case and/or utilization management/care coordination and managed care experience preferred
    • Certification in utilization or care management preferred
    • Strong oral and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required. Trained in the use of Motivational Interviewing techniques a plus
    • Experience working in physician practice and/or with electronic medical records preferred
    • Proficiency with the use of mobile technology (Smartphone, wireless laptop, etc.)
    • Previous system user experience in a highly automated environment and strong personal computer literacy on Windows products required
    • Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Polish a plus
    • Strong cross-group collaboration, teamwork, problem solving, and decision making skills
    • Presentation, analytical and negotiation skills
    • Manage a flexible work schedule to meet member and/or caregiver and departmental scheduling needs
