    Job Description

    Komyo Logistics has an opportunity to join our organization in the role of Assistant Operations Manager in our distribution facility in Loudon, TN. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS STRONG ANALYTICAL, LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND BE CAPABLE OF CREATING AND FOSTERING A POSITIVE WORK ENVIRONMENT.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Has broad and strategic management responsibility for entire facility. Strong leadership ability in providing coaching and mentoring for supervisors and direct reports. Promotes a positive work environment characterized by respect, teamwork and cooperation. Responsible for the daily scheduling of 60-80 associates to ensure proper staffing. Directs the day-to-day activities of the facility, including shipping, receiving, warehousing, housekeeping, maintenance and inventory control. Overall responsibility for productivity, quality and accuracy, including receiving errors, picking errors, and warehouse cubing of parts. Generates distribution center productivity reports, adheres to budget requirements, and works toward obtaining company objectives and goals. Monitors associates’ conformance with company policies and procedures. Works with Human Resources on performance management and use corrective action as necessary. Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations and the company’s Safety program requirements. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION: Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent experience

    EXPERIENCE:

    • 7+ years of management experience in warehouse/distribution environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Has a well-rounded understanding of the operation, its various departments, and how they impact one another.
    • Strong Knowledge of WMS, Client Access, and/or Access queries preferred
    • Knowledge of Business Objects Reports and Report Development queries and/ or Microsoft Access preferred
    • Problem solving skills and knowledge of various root cause analysis techniques.
    • Understanding of LM system and techniques to manage LPH.
    • Knowledge of Customer’s KPI and how each department can impact the metrics.
    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Power Point Presentation Skills.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Frequent talking, hearing and visual acuity to see objects required.
    • Must be able to remain on feet for the majority of work hours.
    • Must be able to work in extreme warehouse temperatures.

    • Knowledge of AS400 System preferred.
    • Knowledge of Warehouse Management System (WMS).
    • Experience conducting formal presentations.
    • Strong focus on quality and safety.
    • Strong administrative skills in report research and preparation, paperwork/documentation completion and prioritization.
    • Contributes critical and analytical thinking to work assignments.
    • Is receptive to new ideas, accepts change & is willing to adapt to new work situations.
    • Acts to improve existing processes or systems, or to develop new ones.
    • Demonstrates a “can-do” approach in responding to customer requests as well as associates. Acts with a sense of urgency and is able to meet deadlines.
    • Able to work alone in areas of core competence with minimal guidance.
    • Pursues activities that keep his/her job skills current & up-to-date.
    • Able to follow established practices and procedures in a disciplined manner.
    • Excellent Attendance and work schedule flexibility. Able to cover for other Shifts when needed.
