    Koneksa Instructional Designer/ Trainer

    Koneksa is a leading patient-centric digital biomarker company for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries that develops end-to-end solutions for remotely collected clinical data. Koneksa supports agile decision-making in drug development and market strategy. By delivering integrated solutions for efficient trial designs that produce more meaningful data, Koneksa aims to revolutionize effective detection in clinical research. 

    Koneksa launched in 2015 following incubation support and initial investment from the Merck Global Health Innovation Fund. The Koneksa Compare Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform is a single instance, multi-tenant environment deployed at more than 400 clinical research sites globally and serves as our primary source of revenue. Customers include more than a dozen pharmaceutical companies who subscribe to the platform and related scientific/technical services to enable clinical trials of new medicines that are assessed using our digital biomarkers.

    The Role We are actively seeking to hire an Instructional Designer/Trainer to manage, review, and streamline all of Koneksa’s eLearning content for both patient-facing and coordinator training material. Drive, determination, and taking responsibility for creating and implementing Koneksa’s portfolio of instructional content and support tools are qualities for successful job performance.

    A successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment without compromising timeliness and quality of results.  They will demonstrate an active and positive response to a variety of challenges and competing priorities in the scope of eLearning and instructional design tools creation, learner engagement, and knowledge retention best practices.

    This role will report to the VP Customer. Our offices are in NYC, and the work can be performed close to this area or in a remote capacity. Due to the current health pandemic, the travel associated with this role might be limited, but in the future the incumbent is expected to travel periodically.

     

    Responsibilities

    • The nature of the work requires timely decision-making and technical expertise associated with adult learning methodologies and best practices to create, manage, and implement Koneksa’s portfolio of external instructional content.
    • Working closely with clients and engaging with patient advocates to quickly and thoroughly master the knowledge necessary to deliver the content expected, and develop site/sponsor eLearning courses, Patient Guides, and Site Manuals.
    • Factual and reliable interactions with multiple stakeholders at different levels, is expected in the communication approach for this role, while focusing on continual problem solving to overcome any potential obstacles to deliver high quality, timely results as Instructional Designer/Trainer subject matter expert.
    • The fast pace of the work environment requires balancing client/patient knowledge, understanding, and critical analysis of new ideas or innovations related to eLearning and instructional design tools to create valuable customized material for client studies and target patient populations.
    • Becoming an expert in Koneksa software and offering to lead on-site and virtual training.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Knowledge of eLearning solutions for software application training (SAP Litmos, Rise360, or similar tools)
    • Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Premier Pro (or similar tools) 
    • 5+ years of experience designing and developing technical courses and instructional materials using proven instructional design methodologies
    • Experience leading a variety of remote and in-person training programs
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
    • Healthcare/clinical trial space experience a plus
    • Robust understanding of web and mobile based technologies
