    Oakland, CA (Remote opportunity for people in other parts of CA)| Direct-hire

    Konik is partnered with a consulting firm with offices in California and Minnesota seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer registered in California to support their California Projects and help grow the mechanical/plumbing branch of their electrical engineering firm. As such, the engineer hired will be equally strong in HVAC and plumbing systems.

    Responsibilities

    • Project discipline leadership
    • Participation in marketing and development of proposals
    • Development of system narratives and specifications (writing, organizing the document, developing concepts)
    • Project mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems design inter-disciplinary coordination lead, for coordination with other trades and consultants
    • Follow quality assurance and quality control procedures and documentation
    • Interact and work with a diverse set of clients and subcontractors
    • Ownership of team metrics (utilization, finances, performance reviews)
    • Visit client sites for accurate existing conditions gathering

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering plus six (6) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
    • Licensed Professional Engineer - Mechanical in California
    • Preferably with 10 years of related experience in HVAC and Plumbing design (fire protection is a plus)
    • Excellent project planning, organizational, and time management skills
    • Extensive understanding of HVAC engineering fundamentals including load calculations, conceptual systems analysis through construction documentation design, design and layout of equipment, duct, and pipe sizing
    • Experience with Design/Bid/Build, Design-Build, and other Alternative Delivery practices
    • Excellent communication skills: articulate, assertive, and confident
    • Instrumentation and controls design/engineering experience
    • Working experience with CA mechanical/plumbing codes and Title 24 Compliance preferred
    • Ability to concisely express complex system solutions in very early design phases to share intent either internally for further development, or externally to assist design partners
