Konik is partnering with a growing defense engineering company located in the south metro area that is seeking to add a Technical Writer to their growing team. This Interactive Technical Writing role will tackle projects related to interactive electronic technical manuals (IETM) for complex products. Our client has a flexible, flat structure emphasizing collaboration and teamwork and the ability to work a hybrid work schedule. While this is a contract-to-hire role, our client has a strong track record of converting individuals to permanent employees.

Technical Writer Responsibilities:

• Use essential authoring tools such as Word, Arbortext, Notepad++ to assist in the production of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM)
• Work with technical experts to establish technical specifications and determine end-item development
• Integrate relevant information into well-written physical descriptions, controls, and indicators and removal and replacement procedures with amplifying graphics
• Select drawings, sketches, diagrams, charts, and photographs of equipment to illustrate the material

Technical Writer Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in writing and/or a technical field is preferred; equivalent experience in engineering, science, or a related field may be considered
• 1+ years of technical writing experience is preferred; entry-level candidates will be considered
• Familiarity with S1000D and either Arbortext or a similar XML editing tool is preferred
• Experience working with Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM) and XML is ideal
• Must be able to obtain a secret clearance which requires US Citizenship
• This client falls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
