    Hutchinson, MN | Direct Hire | $100k-140k total compensation

    Konik is partnering with a local manufacturing/laser technology company that is looking to add a VP of Business and Development to take this company to the next level. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in business development and people operations for a microelectronic medical device company, laser engraving manufacturer, or similar. Someone with a proven ability to foster a positive company culture while maintaining relationship-based business development pipelines would be a great fit!

    What you would be doing:

    • Responsible for managing Profit & Loss (P&L) and driving sales growth.
    • Develop expertise in Laser & Injection Molding processes to create sales materials.
    • Lead and supervise the Team, including on-site management, training, and performance evaluations.
    • Collaborate with administrative personnel and the quality team to uphold ISO processes.
    • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations for plant equipment, processes, and personnel.
    • Coordinate sales efforts with production, workforce utilization, scheduling, and shipping/receiving to optimize profitability.
    • Participate in the hiring and termination processes with HR.
    • Develop sales strategies through various channels, including websites, social media, customer visits, and trade shows.
    • Manage online accounts and collaborate with contracted marketing firm as necessary.
    • Prioritize, contact, meet, propose, and close deals with potential customers, representing the company professionally.
    • Maintain a CRM system to track sales and customer retention strategies, ensuring a full production pipeline.
    • Collaborate with all departments to enhance business systems and processes.

    What you bring:

    • 5+ years of experience in business development within the medical or laser manufacturing industry, or a related field.
    • Adaptability: Enjoys working in a dynamic environment where precision, quality, and continuous improvement are core values.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information in sales presentations.
    • Proficient in building and maintaining customer relationships, both internally and externally.
    • Proactive mindset with the ability to seek out and secure new business opportunities.
    • Willingness to travel regularly.
    • Previous experience dealing with a diverse range of customers, from small niche manufacturers to Fortune 100 companies.
    • Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork.
    • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
    • Effective multitasker with hands-on leadership skills.
    • Comfortable interacting with various employee groups and knowledgeable about Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Engineering, and Supply Chain Management principles.
    • Basic understanding of ANSI/ASME standards and laser technology.
    • Capable of interpreting manufacturing drawings and proficient in 3D CAD software.
