    Sales Manager / Business Development

    Rogers, MN | Direct Hire | Hybrid | $80k - 150k Total 1st year comp - Base plus commission

    Konik is partnering with a manufacturing company that is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager with a focus on building strong relationships and a track record of successfully acquiring new business within the plastics industry. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to business development, and a deep understanding of sales processes.  You should be comfortable with some travel. Working from your home office is also acceptable, but must be local and willing to come into the office in Rogers as needed. Keep reading if this sounds like you!

    Job Duties:

    1. Build Rapport and Relationships:

      • Quickly establish rapport with new stakeholders and nurture long-term relationships.
    2. Influential Presentations:

      • Deliver compelling presentations in person or via web meetings to influence and engage potential clients.
    3. Business Development:

      • Leverage existing account lists and hunt for new logos and inbound prospects through calls, website traffic, and trade shows.
    4. Multichannel Communication:

      • Utilize various communication avenues (phone, email, LinkedIn, webinars, etc.) to build awareness and connect with potential prospects.
    5. Interest Generation:

      • Generate interest among key stakeholders to secure discovery conversations or meetings across different organizational levels.
    6. Discovery and Understanding:

      • Ask effective questions and actively listen to understand the customer's current situation, problems, needs, and decision-making processes.
    7. Value Proposition:

      • Understand the company's value proposition and competitive advantages to effectively differentiate and communicate the solution's value in a competitive market.
    8. Account Management:

      • Participate in account management activities and oversee the tracking of sample requests and price validation on customer purchase orders.
    9. Customer Communication:

      • Manage customer material specifications, conduct improvement surveys, and maintain regular communication with clients.
    10. Sales Department Management:

      • Provide direct management of the sales department, including staffing and coordination of key performance goals for functions and direct reports.
    11. Pipeline Management:

      • Manage and process a qualified pipeline of opportunities by prioritizing assigned accounts and prospects.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • At least 5 years of sales experience in the plastics industry, including extrusion, molding, thermoforming, or plastic resin.
    • College degree preferred.
    • Demonstrated success in hunting for new business, meeting sales goals, and driving sales growth.
    • Experience in tracking and managing information.
    • PC proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite) is required.
