    Tool and Die Designer

    Maple Lake Area (Hybrid) | Direct Hire | $80,000-$95,000

    Konik is partnering with a local manufacturing company west of the metro that is seeking to add a Tool and Die Designer to their team. In this role, you will work with internal and external customers on design concepts for progressive dies, compound dies, stage tooling, jigs, and fixture requirements. This is an excellent opportunity with a well-established firm and the option of half-day Fridays or four ten-hour days.

    Mechanical Drafter Responsibilities:

    • Prepare strip layouts, plan views, BOM's, detail drawings, and other documents as required
    • Get quotes for purchased components when required and relay them on to purchasing
    • Create BOM including manufactured and purchased components
    • Make engineering changes to existing tools and dies
    • Work with engineering team during tool development to ensure parts meet the customers requirement
    • Function in a collaborative environment, assisting other designers and staff to achieve quality product in time sensitive situations
    • Conduct and lead design reviews with the tool room and manufacturing departments
    • Adhere to and have continuous improvement input into documented tooling standards

    Tool and Die Designer Requirements

    • 3+ years of experience as a full-time tool designer with a passion for improvement
    • Performs project management activities and offers cost competitive solutions on project deliverables
    • Experience with Solid Modeling Complete Tool assemblies, Solidworks preferred
    • Experience with Logopress Solidworks Preferred
    • Knowledge of different tool steels and their applications
    • Knowledge of different tool coatings and their applications
    • Able to troubleshoot die performance issues and provide solutions
    • Previous tool building experience preferred
