Controls Engineer

Remote | $100k - $130k | Direct Hire

Job Summary: The Automation Engineer is responsible for the design, programming, troubleshooting, and start-up of industrial automation projects. This role involves creating control system designs from concept to final commissioning, primarily using AutoCAD Electrical, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, and Ignition. Projects include process and machine control, performed both remotely and on-site.

Controls Engineer Responsibilities:

• Participate in client meetings to define system requirements and scope.
• Interpret design documents to guide control system design and programming.
• Design industrial control systems, including control panels, networking, and field devices.
• Create control system programs using modular and reusable techniques.
• Conduct on-site start-up and commissioning of control systems.

Controls Engineer Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in food production and packaging line automation.
• Expertise in PLC programming with Studio 5000 and HMI/SCADA screens using Ignition and FactoryTalk View.
• Proficiency in creating control panel drawings and network diagrams with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Knowledge of USDA regulations and GMP designs for the food industry.
• Strong understanding of production and packaging equipment integration in the food industry.
