Architectural Specifications Writer

Minneapolis, MN | Direct Hire | $60k- $90k

Konik has partnered with an architectural, planning, and engineering firm seeking an Architectural Specifications Writer to develop and assemble specifications for various building projects. This role requires a solid knowledge base of architectural materials, products, building systems, and construction procedures.

Responsibilities of the Architectural Specifications Writer:

• Develop and assemble specifications for a variety of building types
• Coordination with disciplines, construction managers, and clients
• Create architectural specifications to include Divisions 1 – 14
• Perform material, product, and building systems research for project teams and assist project teams with shop drawing and product substitution review.
• Edits and maintains the master specifications for code, material updates, and new products.
• Assists in incorporating industry standards and applicable codes into the design and layout of architectural systems.
• Represents technical aspects for the architectural department at project team meetings.
• Coordinates architectural specification items with other disciplines and consultants to ensure a quality project.

Qualifications of the Architectural Specifications Writer:

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Architecture
• 2+ years of experience in architectural specifications writing
• In-depth knowledge of architectural materials, products, contract relationships, and building systems.
• CDT certification is a plus
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel and familiarity with MasterSpec
