Hybrid/Remote - South Metro | Contract to Hire | Up to $32/hr

Konik is partnering with a growing defense engineering company in the south metro area seeking to add Technical Writers to their team. They have multiple openings and roles for individuals who prefer classical technical writing and those who enjoy interactive technical document elements. Both of these challenging roles will tackle projects related to integrated electronic technical manuals for complex products. Our client has a flexible, flat structure emphasizing collaboration and teamwork and the ability to work a hybrid work schedule. While this is a contract-to-hire role, our client has a strong track record of converting individuals to permanent employees.

Technical Writer Responsibilities:

• Use essential authoring tools such as Word, Arbortext, and Notepad++ to assist in the production of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals
• Work with technical experts to establish technical specifications and determine end item development
• Integrate relevant information into well-written physical descriptions, controls, and indicators and removal and replacement procedures with amplifying graphics
• Select drawings, sketches, diagrams, charts, and photographs of equipment to illustrate the material

Technical Writer Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in writing and/or a technical field is preferred; equivalent experience in engineering, science, or a related field may be considered
• 0+ years of technical writing experience is required, but training around technical writing and any experience in a manufacturing/engineering setting is beneficial
• Familiarity with S1000D and either Arbortext or a similar program is very beneficial
• Must be able to obtain a secret clearance which requires US Citizenship
• This client falls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
