    Senior Mechanical Engineer

    Plymouth, MN | Direct-Hire | $115,000-$140,000

    Konik is partnering with a local manufacturing client that is interested in bringing in a Senior Mechanical Engineer. The individual in this role is responsible for the design and production of new systems as well as the support of existing installations.

    Senior Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities

    • Development - concept generation, specification document creation, etc.
    • Design - component sizing and selection, layout diagrams, engineering drawings, BOM, etc.
    • Implementation - advising design engineers and draftsmen, customer project meetings, production assistance, etc.
    • Documentation - review and approval of drawings, creation of system operation and installation manuals.
    • Administration - organizing engineering documentation and distributing both internally and to customers.
    • Testing - develop QA procedures and Factory Acceptance Test criteria, support QC of system components.
    • Product Support - installation support during startup, troubleshooting existing installations, etc.

    Senior Mechanical Engineer Requirements

    • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
    • Minimum 3-5 years designing systems made up of multiple components from several different vendors
    • Must be a self-starter who is able to identify and execute specific tasks needed to meet a broad objective
    • Ability to produce product drawings and schematics in 2D CAD software
    • Demonstrated ability to take a system from a concept to an operating installation
    • Ability to complete designs already in progress with the ability to recognize necessary changes
    • Ability to predict task time requirements and meet deadlines
    • Ability to travel internationally and work remotely at customer sites without direct supervision.
    • Must have a valid passport or the ability to obtain one

    Senior Mechanical Engineer Preferred Qualifications

    • 3D modeling experience using Solidworks in a work setting, including the ability to create and work within complex assemblies.
    • Ability to develop engineering bills of materials
    • Ability to develop QC procedures for manufactured parts and assemblies
    • Experience selecting and sizing fluid system components such as pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, valves, etc.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge in fluid flow, liquid cooling, heat transfer, fits, finishes, material selection and geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
    • Ability to design for manufacturability
