KraftCPAs is seeking a Controller for a manufacturing client located near downtown, Nashville.

Accounting Responsibilities:

Supervise the accounting staff of 5

Prepare month end and year end financials, journal entries and reports, account analysis

Work directly with auditors for yearend audit of financials, preparing work papers for audit etc.

Complete monthly and quarterly sales tax returns for Tennessee and Kentucky

File annual personal property tax returns

Prepare various annual reports, registrations

Prepare daily cash reports for management

Work directly with broker on annual renewals of company commercial insurance policies and workers compensation

Review Customers accounts and call on past dues for collection

Human Resource Responsibilities:

Prepare portions of weekly payroll and monthly commissions for input to payroll service

Set up new employee hires with required documents for files

Set up new employees with insurance and other benefits

Handle workers compensation claims

Prepare yearend 1099, 1094 and 1095 forms etc.

Work directly with insurance companies for annual renewals of Medical, Group policies etc.

Training sessions for various programs, (i.e.) Drug free training

Prepare year end 401K census for compliance testing

Other:

Candidate should be detailed oriented, ability to supervise and work with other team members.

Willingness to work in a diverse work environment where needed, (i.e.) help out in different areas of the business since we are a smaller business (“wear different hats at times”).

Knowledge of different software, i.e. Excel, Word, and integrated manufacturing software.

Experience in manufacturing business required, at least 5 years.

Job costing experience desired.
