    Job Description

    GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

    The Supplier Cost Analyst is responsible for managing proposed material costs for multiple proposals and programs here at KUAS.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Develop and prepare Cost Analysis, Commercial Item Determination (CID) and Competitive Analysis on supplier provided data.

    • Provide material support documentation and price analysis in support of proposal submissions to U.S. Department of Defense customers.

    • Decompose supplier provided proposal and Cost or Pricing Data into constituent estimating elements for analysis and determination of price reasonableness.

    • Perform indirect rate analysis and direct labor cost analysis to determine reasonableness of supplier cost burdens applied to direct elements and develop detailed rebuttal position.

    • Develop walk-down positions by cost element in order to establish summary conclusions and recommendations regarding supplier pricing and provide basis for negotiations.

    • Conduct market research and price analysis to confirm the commerciality of a proposed part.

    • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects as needed that enhances the current proposal and Cost/Price analysis process.

    Experience and Skills

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

    • Utilize analytical and computer skills and various software packages (Excel, Word) to prepare appropriate reports and documents.

    • Support the analysis, evaluation, development and implementation process and system improvements within budget while adhering to strict time requirements and schedule.

    • A working understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR) with an emphasis on FAR/DFAR compliant proposals to FAR 15.2 Truth in Negotiation Act TINA.

    • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.

    • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.

    • Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.

    • Ability to adhere to workplace rules.

    • Ability to effectively communicate professionally in writing or verbally with all levels of personnel.

    • Flexibility to handle changing requirements and prioritize in a dynamic environment.

     

    PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Experience in proposal preparation with a working knowledge of Project Finance, Contracts or Subcontract Administration with a working knowledge of Cost & Price Analysis for Department of Defense procurements.

    • Familiarity with Cost Accounting Standards, Contract Cost Principles and Procedures, and Accounting and Proposal preparation procedures.

       

      EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor Degree preferably in a business, financial or accounting discipline and three (3) year’s work or equivalent experience or Masters Degree and two (2) year’s work experience.

    • May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Office and/or manufacturing  environment.

    • May work extended hours or weekends to to complete tasks and meet schedule.

    • May work in manufacturing and/or field environments with potential exposure to uncontrolled climate. conditions and potential exposure to noise, dust and hazardous chemicals.

    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

    • Ability to perform repetitive motion (computer work, phones).

    • Ability to stand and sit for long period of time.
