    As part of a diverse and hardworking team of specialists, you will directly support our client's success through leading the development of appropriate standards, processes and tools for systems engineering including systems architecture, systems integration, requirements development and decomposition, verification and validation approaches, configuration management, gated reviews, systems safety, trade studies, and technical performance metric management.

    As a Subject Mater Expert within the Engineering Center of Excellence, you will champion and develop purpose appropriate and efficient technical processes, standard methodologies and tool development for system engineering and product development including: requirement collection and flow-down, preliminary design, critical design, product realization, design verification testing, system integration, qualification, certification, delivery, and operations.

    You will help develop capabilities within the team as well as help guide business units to achieve their mission! ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Establish, supervise, document and improve processes specific to systems engineering's consistent with industry best practices while maintaining the speed, agility and efficiency of a startup operation. The processes established will support collecting necessary compliance data, improve cycle time, user acceptance, and to reduce defects and rework
    • Act as the negotiator between multiple and sometimes conflicting interests in order to make sure the organization as a whole is optimized
    • Work with internal customers and tool developers to develop requirements and implement organizational systems and programs
    • Act as a non-advocate Domain Specialist (SME) for programs during reviews and failure investigations
    • Chair/run SE working group(s)
    • Develop strategies and approaches for specialty engineering (operability, reliability, maintainability, supportability) integration, analysis and verification
    • Mentor and educate our client's employees on systems engineering processes and
    • methods. Develop and present training materials

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space!
    • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace engineering or other technical field
    • 15+ years of systems development, project management experience, and/or process improvement experience
    • Ability to communicate and work effectively and lead teams, good execution and coordination skills
    • Highly knowledgeable of systems engineering practices, integration processes, and mission/safety critical systems.
    • A thorough understanding of the objectives value of Systems Engineering
    • Demonstrated track record of resourcefulness and success from previous assignments and working with interdisciplinary and multi-functional teams.
    • Self-directed and balance several tasks at one time
    • Support up to 10% domestic travel to engage key partners and support training
    • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

    DESIRED:

    • Experience managing process/tool improvement projects, including requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, and cost
    • Experience with requirements development/management tools; DOORS, DOORS Next Gen and lifecycle management (PLM) and/or data, Windchill
    • Experience with collaboration tools such as Confluence and JIRA
    • Experience establishing and deploying Model-Based Systems Engineering processes and tools across the enterprise
    • Experience leading Continuous Improvement projects and Kaizens
    • Strong understanding of safety-critical systems development (aerospace, medical, automotive)
    • Experience in reliability, maintainability and supportability analysis and execution
    • Experience with failure investigations
    • Experience coaching and mentoring others while leading improvement projects
    • Experience in making routine presentations to large groups and also, executive level employees
