    JOB POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    Our OTR Semi Drivers are responsible for hauling product to from a final destination. Dedicated Lanes! Class A Commercial Driver’s License; 1-2 years experience is preferred. From Wausau to California or Wausau to Florida.

    Our warehouse is located in Rothschild, Wisconsin (located outside of Wausau, WI). With such a great schedule, our drivers commute from various cities because they're only having to drive to the warehouse and home one time! Local residence is not required!

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order, pre and post trip.

    In conjunction with applicable state and federal DOT regulations, maintain logs, working hours, vehicle service or repair status reports.

    Load and unload trucks, help others with loading and unloading, operate any special loading-related equipment on vehicles and using other equipment as necessary.

    Secure cargo for transport. Load locks. Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage.

    Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver products.

    Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods.

    Operate communication equipment (CB radios, phones) to exchange necessary information with bases, other drivers and management.

    Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs.

    Read bills of lading to determine assignment details.

    Couple or uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting or disconnecting electrical lines or manipulating fifth-wheel locks

    Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes.

    Wrap goods using pads, packing paper, and containers, and secure loads to trailer walls, using load locks.

    Give directions to laborers who are packing goods and moving them into trailers.

    Collaborate with other drivers as part of a driving team.
