    Job Title: HR Operations Coordinator

    Organization: Latino Education Advancement Foundation (LEAF)

    Hours & Location: Part-time, hybrid position (2-4 days in office required)

    ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

    The Latino Education Advancement Foundation (LEAF) is a 501(c)(3) organization focused on providing programs, advocacy, and responsive education initiatives benefiting college-bound students graduating from East Side San Jose High Schools. LEAF’s mission is to improve outcomes for Latinx students and families in East San Jose by providing support services for college enrollment and persistence, preparing students and families through our career pathways program, and advocating for educational equity and systemic change. Through scholarships, workshops, peer mentorship, parent engagement, and college partnerships, the LEAF Center for College Success aims to increase the number of students who enroll in and persist through colleges to earn a degree.

     

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

    The Operations Manager position will support LEAF with Human Resources, Payroll, Office Management, and Light Bookkeeping. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Human Resources:

    • Onboard new employees, including setup and maintenance of employee records, completion of mandatory paperwork, add to ADP online payroll system

    • Run monthly Payroll

    • Maintain health benefit plan

    • Develop and launch additional Employee Health & Welfare plans as needed

    • Support with the hiring of new employees, including posting job descriptions, receiving resumes, and scheduling interviews

     

    Accounting Support:

    • Review and reconcile Accounts Payable for Facilities and General Operations

    • Process incoming and outgoing mail

    • Work with external Accounting Manager to request invoice payments, check requests, and any additional budgeting items

     

    Office Management:

    • Order and maintain office furniture, supplies and equipment; Ensure smooth functioning of office environment

    • Manage all building needs such as parking, monthly rent, and maintenance issues

    • Manage business service accounts such as Google Admin, TechSoup, Comcast

     

    Executive Support:

    • Prepare & disseminate materials for monthly Board of Trustees meetings

    • Manage special projects for the CEO as requested

     

    Event Support:

    • Support team with event planning and preparation, including purchasing supplies, and booking spaces

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 2+ years of relevant experience, including HR & office management

    • Energetic and innovative

    • Collaborative team player

    • Excellent verbal, written, and public presentation skills

    • Strong organizational skills

    • Attention to detail

    Hourly Rate: $35-$45/hourly, commensurate on experience and qualifications
