    Job Description

    We are seeking an Associate Attorney. This is a great opportunity for a highly-motivated attorney be an integral part of a growing firm. You will represent clients in unlawful detainer and other civil proceedings, as well as administrative hearings with the City of Los Angeles.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · Represent clients in court or before government agencies

    · Represent landlords and affordable housing providers in housing-related issues, including: inception/termination of tenancy; Fair Housing and similar complaints from tenants to government agencies.

    · Motion practice, including drafting complaints/responsive pleadings.

    · Draft and argue your own motions in court

    · Propound and respond to discovery

    · Take and defend depositions

    · Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients

    · Advise clients on business and legal transactions

    · Negotiate settlements for legal disputes

    · Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law

    ​​QUALIFICATIONS:

    · Prior civil courtroom experience preferred

    · Previous experience in unlawful detainer preferred

    · Bilingual English/Spanish Speaker preferred

    · Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    · Must be a licensed State Bar of California member; no paralegals, legal assistants or office managers needed.

    SALARY commensurate with experience. Salary range $100K to $150K.
