    Pacific Pros is seeking Engineer II for Construction Projects to be a representative for Los Angeles World Airport (LAWA).

    Work Location: LAWA has required the candidates be locally available for this position.

    Region: Los Angeles, CA

    Status: Full-time - Hybrid.

    Opening: March 2026, Immediate

    Working Hours: TBD, typical dayshift is 6:00am – 2:30pm or 5:00am – 1:30pm M-F; night shift is 10:00pm – 6:30am Sun

    Position Description Summary Serve as Owner's representative.

    Under direction of LAWA’s Planning & Design Division’s (PDD) Operational Planning Section, supports LAWA’s operational business units in documenting, analyzing, and recommending solutions/improvements to current and future operational challenges within the organization. Serves as a technical resource within an airport/aviation planning area – Landside, Terminal, or Airside. Conducts and manages technical studies, data analysis, and simulation of airport business/operations.

    Essential Job Duties

    Duties include, but are not limited to:

    Supports process improvement by coordinating with operational business units, identifying and documenting inefficiencies around LAWA’s airside and terminal components, and providing improvement opportunities.

    Data collection and analysis of various aviation operational data such as:

    Historic and upcoming flight schedules

    Aerobahn - Airfield operations tracking (airfield and gate/stand monitoring)

    TSA and CBP

    Staffing, processing equipment usage, and utilization

    Baggage handling

    Space occupancy

    Develop gated flight schedules for upcoming seasons

    Develop baseline gate/counter assignment/allocation for common-use facilities

    Prepare/Review/Lead studies and analysis on:

    Improving operational efficiency and capability

    Increasing operational capacity for the airport

    Managing and reducing delays

    Operational changes due to construction, policy, safety, or other technical requirements that affect airport operations and business

    Simulation and modeling.

    Working knowledge of CAST Gate/Stand Allocation and familiarity with Simio

    Run gate utilization analysis and queueing analysis on passenger processing

    Review other modeling/simulation work done by other entities or projects.

    Field observations for data collection and information gathering on airport operations

    Reviews various studies’ modeling methodology, assumptions, parameters, and sources

    Review functionality and operations of massing, stacking, conceptual layout plans.

    Review and preliminary concept drawings from an operational and functional perspective.

    Provide recommendations on improvements and layouts on use of space on airside and in terminals

    Provide sketches on layout or space allocation improvements for further analysis.

    Coordinates with commercial, operations, maintenance, and other stakeholders as needed to provide input, review results, or modify assumptions.

    Develops reports and presentations to stakeholders and airport management, as needed.

    Professional Experience Level/Minimum Qualifications

    5–12 years of experience in airport planning, operations, simulation, and data analysis

    Proficient with MS Office and MS 365 products

    Experience in CAST or aircraft gate/stand allocation

    Experience with Simio or processing/flow simulation software

    Preferred experience with data and statistical software such as Python, R, SAS, etc.

    Preferred experience with analytical software such as Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, GIS

    Preferred experience with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, GIS, etc.

    Degree in industrial engineering, civil engineering, transportation planning, city/urban planning, architecture, aviation, business, operations research, or related technical field

    Professional Licenses & Certifications:

    Licensed Engineer or EIT required (preferably by California Board of Engineers)

    Optional Additional Certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PMP, etc., and/or any other relevant Professional Licensure or Certification

    Element-Specific Requirements/Notes

    May assume other duties as required/needed.

    May be required to work various shifts, including day, swing, and night.

    Shall be open to work modified schedules, including nights and weekends, as dictated by the contractors' work activities and accelerated project schedules.

    Availability to work overtime as required to meet project deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks is preferred.

    LAWA has required the candidates be locally available and fully on-site for this field position.
