Pacific Pros is seeking Construction Inspector, Deputy Building for Construction Projects to be a representative for Los Angeles World Airport (LAWA).
Work Location: LAWA has required the candidates be local for this position.
Region: Los Angeles, CA
Status: Full-time on-site.
Opening: April 2026, Immediate
Working Hours: Must be able to work any assigned shift - day, swing, or night - as required to meet the contractor’sconstruction schedule.
Position Description Summary The Deputy Building Inspector will provide special inspection support for the LAWA Quality Assurance
and Construction Inspection Division across multiple projects within LAWA’s Capital Improvement Program. This role requires knowledge of multiple code requirements, effective communication, and time management.
Serve as Owner's representative. The staff will support LAWA’s Quality Assurance & Construction Inspection Division across multiple projects within LAWA’s Capital Improvement Program.
*Candidates must possess valid Los Angeles City Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) DeputyLicenses in Concrete Construction, Spray-Applied Fireproofing, Drilled-in-Anchors/Seismic Resistance,and Steel Construction. Possession of other deputy licenses is preferred. .
*Proof of Cal-OSHA 30-hr training within the last 4 years prior to assignment.
*Successful candidates must have LAWA SIDA badge prior to official start of work.
*Must be able to work any assigned shift - day, swing, or night - as required to meet the contractor’s construction schedule.
Essential Job Duties
The duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Create and maintain comprehensive daily inspection reports that capture the WHO, WHAT,WHEN, WHERE, and HOW of all construction work activities, while ensuring the reports areclear and concise to accurately reflect daily progress.
Assist in reviewing monthly progress payment requests when assigned to a program.
Track various changes, verify time and material work, measure, and document job quantities.
Conduct special inspections on various disciplines.
Possess experience, knowledge, and understanding of methods used throughout construction.
Possess valid Los Angeles City Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) DeputyLicenses in the following disciplines:
Concrete construction
Steel construction
Drilled-in anchors/seismic resistance
Spray-applied fireproofing
Hardware/Software Knowledge
Knowledge of Project Management Information Software used for inspection/documentcontrol (i.e. PM Web, Adobe Pro, Bluebeam, etc.).
Computer proficiency to review and utilize electronic equipment for contract documentsefficiently, including change orders, submittals, RFIs, and other inspection documents, withminimal supervision.
Required Qualification/Professional Experience Level
5 years or more of experience performing as a LADBS Deputy Building Inspector on large-scale projects.
This includes overseeing and ensuring compliance with building codes andregulations on significant construction projects.
Involvement in complex projects that require coordination with multiple stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and city officials.
Expertise in identifying and addressing code violations, ensuring that all aspectsof construction meet the required standards.
US Employment Authorization without needing sponsorship
Excellent written and oral communication skills
A valid Driver’s License and compliance with PACIFIC’s Vehicle Policy, if driving is required.
Proficiency with common Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat (PDF files)

Preferred Qualifications
Experience at the journey level as an electrician, with a focus on the installation and repair of electrical systems in public works, institutional, commercial, or industrial settings.
Experience overseeing and ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations on significant construction projects.
Involvement in complex projects requiring coordination with multiple stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and city officials.
Expertise in identifying and addressing deficiencies to ensure all aspects of construction meet required standards.
Must be open to learning the prescriptive items required by the agency.
Strong understanding of diverse code requirements.
Excellent communication and time-management skills.
Minimum Education/Training
High school diploma (or equivalent)
Higher education level is preferred.
OSHA 30 (prior to assignment); valid certificates obtained within the past 4 years is acceptable.
Current ICC Certification as a Commercial Electrical Inspector

May assume other duties as required/needed.
May be required to work various shifts, including day, swing, and night.
Shall be open to work modified schedules, including nights and weekends, as dictated by the contractors' work activities and accelerated project schedules.
Availability to work overtime as required to meet project deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks is preferred.
LAWA has required the candidates be local and available fully on-site for this field position.
Compensation
Prevailing Wage Position. For higher education degrees, a higher salary will be considered.
