    Pacific Pros is seeking Office Engineer II for Construction Projects to be a representative for Los Angeles World Airport (LAWA).

    Work Location: LAWA has required the candidates be local for this position.

    Region: Los Angeles, CA

    Status: Full-time on-site.

    Position Description Summary Serve as Owner's representative.

    The Terminal 5 (T5) Office Engineer reports to the T5 Sr. Project Manager and is responsible for assisting the T5 project management team with managing the scope, schedule, and operational interfaces of all design- and construction-related activities for the Terminal 5 Renovation and Reconstruction Project.

    The Terminal 5 Renovation and Reconstruction Project covers the full demolition and rebuilding of the Terminal 5 headhouse and concourse, as well as various enabling scopes to vacate the existing building.

    Position Description

    The T5 Office Engineer supports the project management team by handling the administrative, technical, and coordination functions required to deliver construction projects efficiently and in compliance with contract requirements. This role is responsible for managing project documentation, assisting with construction engineering tasks, coordinating with contractors and design teams, and ensuring timely communication among all project stakeholders. The Office Engineer helps track progress, maintain logs, support cost and schedule controls, and ensure that project records, submittals, RFIs, and change orders are processed accurately and promptly.

    Knowledge of design and construction contracting practices and methodologies

    Knowledge and experience in the project design lifecycle from Concept to Project Definition Book to Permit to Bulletins

    Knowledge and experience in the project construction lifecycle from Pre-Construction to estimating/buyout to phasing to implementation to Closeout

    Maintaining an excellent working relationship with design and construction professionals geared toward open communications and mutual problem solving in the best interest of the project and all other parties involved

    Contributing to a high level of team morale through professionalism that reflects well on the project team, external stakeholders, and LAWA/internal stakeholders

    Essential Job Duties for this position

    Manage and maintain all project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and daily reports

    Track, log, and monitor contractor submittals to ensure timely review and distribution to design teams and project stakeholders

    Prepare, process, and follow up on Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring prompt communication of responses to all relevant parties

    Update and maintain RFI and submittal logs in PMWeb, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements

    Maintain organized hard-copy and electronic project files; oversee document and submittal management systems

    Work with contractors to ensure drawings and project documents are posted and updated in a timely manner

    Distribute documents, submittals, and RFIs for review; track review comments, compile responses, obtain management approval, and issue formal responses to contractors

    Coordinate with contractors, design teams, inspectors, and project managers to support clear and consistent information flow

    Assist in preparing construction meeting agendas, presentations, and action item logs

    Support field operations by coordinating with field engineers and superintendents to maintain alignment between project documentation and field activities

    Ensure proper filing, organization, and archiving of all project records in accordance with LAWA project standards

    Manipulate various electronic file formats to create exhibits, graphics, and supporting materials for meetings and presentations

    Perform additional project support duties as assigned, including attending and documenting project meetings, writing agendas and minutes, expediting processes, and maintaining expediting logs

    Hardware/Software Knowledge

    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam

    Experience with Project Management Implementation Systems; ability to work in PM Web preferred

    Required Qualifications

    10 years or more experience, preferably on airport projects

    Experience working on large teams for complex projects

    Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR, and Design/Build

    Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations

    Minimum Education/Training

    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or other related technical field required

    Licensed Engineer (preferably by the California Board of Engineers) preferred

    Optional certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP, or other relevant professional licenses and/or certifications

    May assume other duties as required/needed.

    May be required to work past regular work shifts

    May be required to work various shifts as needed

    This is a Monday–Friday full-time position in the office or on the project site at LAX

    The position will require the candidate to have the ability to transit to, from, and between project sites.

    This is NOT a work-from-home position

    After hours or weekend work may be required to perform the duties of the position. This shall be considered part of the salary.
