    SOUTHERN MARYLAND ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE HAS IMMEDIATE OPENINGS FOR ENGINEERING & OPERATIONS COORDINATORS

    POSITION DESCRIPTION The primary functions of this position will be providing effective and efficient department engineering task coordination relating to, but not limited to regulatory compliance reporting, customer communication, contract management coordination, device switch number assignment, work plan project status tracking, and cost and drawing control.

    In addition, this position will provide effective and efficient operational task coordination relating to, but not limited to regulatory compliance document management, maintenance record keeping, scheduling test and maintenance activities, and Enterprise Asset Management “Ellipse” (EAM) work request and material requisition support.

    Lastly, this position will provide departmental staff support, as assigned by the department vice president, which may sometimes involve preparing and handling confidential personnel matters. Facilitates and completes department administrative task and coordinates activities relating to, but not limited to report and study document, spreadsheet, and PowerPoint presentation verbiage, content, and layout; staff reports, contract and task order development, contract and record retention, meeting facilitation, assigned Cooperative work group SharePoint site content management, budget preparation and variance control, project and charge expenses, timesheets, and filing.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS SMECO is seeking candidates with an Associate’s Degree from an accredited engineering or business college or university with a minimum of ten years of progressive business environment work experience within an engineering, construction, operations, or accounting related discipline. An in-depth demonstrated working knowledge of general business office procedures and MS Office software applications is required. Electric Utility or engineering consulting firm experience preferred. Directly applicable equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of Associates degree requirement.

    POSITION BENEFITS Salary is commensurate with experience and can range from $65,100-$84,300. SMECO offers an excellent benefits program including a 401k 6% dollar for dollar match and additional 3% non-elective company contribution.     Required Skills

    Associate's Degree from an accredited engineering or business college or university.  

    Required Experience

    Minimum of ten years of progressive business environment work experience within an engineering, construction, operations, or accounting related discipline.  An in-depth demonstrated working knowledge of general business office procedures and MS Office software applications is required.  Electric Utility or engineering consulting firm experience preferred.  Directly applicable equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of Associates degree requirement.
