POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the design, installation, maintenance and support of LCEC's computing and network infrastructure. This includes the Network Operating System, File, Application, Web, Email, VMware, Cisco VoIP, and SQL Servers. Network management, monitoring, security infrastructure and documentation functions are integral parts of this position and require in-depth knowledge of various test equipment, protocols, applications and security systems. Position provides 24-hours/day, 7-days/week support.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
LAN/WAN Network & Security Infrastructure:
Maintenance and support of the LCEC Network Infrastructure including: Ethernet Switches, Routers, RAS, Wireless, and Mobile network equipment. Monitor the network and troubleshoot to resolve all connectivity issues. Report on any performance related problems and recommend solutions. Maintain up-to-date documentation on the entire network system.
Network Design and routing configurations using dynamic protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VXLAN.
Maintain and support LCEC security infrastructure including: Firewall’s, Intrusion Prevention systems (IPS), Access Control Lists (ACL), Enterprise Virus Protection, SPAM and content management systems.
Provide information security support pertaining to regulatory compliance related activities such as PCI, CIP and Red Flag Rules.
Primary contact for all commercial circuit outages and troubleshooting.
Act as a project team member or leader as required to support new systems, services and process improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with the Network Engineering team to research and recommend technology solutions for current and future business requirements to include cost/benefit analysis and determine budget requirements.

Plans, Designs, and Optimizes MPLS WAN Infrastructure.
Provides technical leadership for communications solutions.
Provides expert level support of network systems.
Executes technology projects required by the business with relation to new/existing infrastructure enhancements and provides escalations in relation to maintenance of the existing network.
Manages and maintains - 200+ network elements, switches, routers, firewalls
Provides deployment and connectivity support for all applications, databases, and server platforms.
Support Ethernet switching platforms, OSPF and BGP routing configuration, and support Firewall/IP security.
Works with equipment vendors to identify bugs as well as integrate fixes and new features.
Responsible to manage own projects and report progress / results.
Document all designs, projects, and upgrades to existing and life cycled infrastructure.
Knowledge of Cisco IOS and various competing vendor network operating systems.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, including but not limited to IP, TCP, UDP, TACACS+, RADIUS, VRRP, HSRP
Extensive L3 network routing protocol troubleshooting skills. (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SD-WAN)
Knowledge of Ethernet switching and related technology (e.g. load balancing)(including Layers 2, 4-7, content switching).
Knowledge of QoS mechanisms and concepts.
Experience with standard network change management and configuration policies.
In-depth knowledge of network monitoring and other network administrative tools.
Knowledge of firewall operation, security boundaries, and Access Control mechanisms to prevent unwanted access in support of the InfoSec standards and policies.
