Job Title: Social Worker / Licensed Counselor (LCSW/ LPC/ LMFT)
Location: Sims Social Services, LLC.
Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Reports To: Clinical Supervisor
Job Overview: We are seeking Licensed Professionals and Provisional Licensed Professionals in Social Work and Counseling, LCSW, LPC, and LMFT credentials, to join our dynamic team. The positions entail completing assessments, psychotherapy appointments, doing supervision, treatment plans, and prior authorizations. Additionally, we provide specialized DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) training through LSU’s Evidence-Based Training program seeking to further their clinical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
Provide individual, family, and group counseling using evidence-based interventions.
Conduct mental health assessments, treatment planning, and progress evaluations.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with client needs and goals.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, case managers, and other providers to coordinate care.
Educate clients and families about coping strategies, mental health conditions, and community resources.
Uphold ethical and legal standards, including HIPAA and professional counseling regulations.
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Provide therapy for individuals, couples, and families focusing on relational and systemic issues.
Assess family dynamics, communication patterns, and relational challenges.
Develop treatment plans that incorporate family systems theory and evidence-based practices.
Facilitate family therapy sessions to address conflict, improve communication, and strengthen support systems.
Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and healthcare providers when appropriate.
Document sessions and progress notes in compliance with agency, state, and CARF standards.
Provide psychoeducation to families about mental health, relationships, and resilience.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop client-centered treatment plans.
Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy, emphasizing strengths-based and trauma-informed care.
Deliver case management services, including linkage to community resources and supports.
Advocate for clients’ rights, access to care, and social justice within healthcare and community systems.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (medical providers, schools, agencies) to ensure holistic care.
Maintain thorough clinical documentation, billing compliance, and progress tracking.
Provide crisis intervention and support for clients experiencing acute distress.

Qualifications:
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) – Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher in Counseling or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
Completion of at least 60 graduate semester hours in counseling, including required coursework in human development, counseling theories/techniques, group dynamics, appraisal, research, and professional ethics.
Must hold a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) license in Louisiana or a current LPC license issued by the Louisiana LPC Board of Examiners.
Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
Completion of 3,000 hours of supervised post-master’s experience (2,000 hours direct counseling; 1,000 supervision/related activities; 100 hours face-to-face supervision with a Board-approved LPC-S).
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) – Minimum Qualifications
Master’s or doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (or related field approved by the Louisiana Board of Examiners for MFT).
Completion of at least 48 graduate semester hours in MFT coursework including family dynamics, human development, couples therapy, MFT assessment/diagnosis, ethics, and research.
Must hold a Provisional LMFT license or current LMFT license in Louisiana.
Successful completion of the AMFTRB National Marriage and Family Therapy Examination.
Completion of 3,000 hours of supervised post-master’s clinical experience (minimum 1,500 direct client contact; 500 hours with couples or families; supervision by a Board-approved LMFT-S).
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) – Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
Current Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or LCSW license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners.
Successful completion of the ASWB Clinical Examination.
Completion of 3 years (5,760 hours) of supervised post-master’s practice, including:
Minimum 3,840 hours of direct client contact.
Minimum 96 hours of face-to-face supervision by a Board-approved LCSW-BACS.
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
