Peerless Hospitality Concepts, a family-owned restaurant group with a rich history in Tennessee dating back to 1938, is seeking passionate and experienced Line Cooks/Chefs to compliment our unique-concept, full-service, casual dining restaurant and bar, BURG'r & BARREL in a historic Johnson City location. Finer dining restaurant is planned for reopening next year.

    As the Lead Line Cook/Chef you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional quality food to our guests. Perks:

    Responsibilities:

    Batch cooking & kitchen prep duties

    Grill, Fry & Sauté various meats & other foods

    High-volume cooking with quality using all new kitchen equipment

    Prepare speciality dishes & sauces

    Present, garnish & arrange final dishes

    Replenish & requisition supply items daily

    Ensure ingredients & cooked dishes are fresh

    Handle & store ingredients

    Do kitchen & prep area cleaning

    Follow & food safety & sanitation procedures

    Work closely with Culinary Manager & Restaurant Manager for specials

    Checks all refrigeration for proper temperature controls

    Observes and tests food being cooked to make sure it is cooked properly

    Requirements:

    3-5 years relevant food preparation experience in a high quality, high volume establishment

    Track record of kitchen line leadership

    Proven ability to plan, organize and execute requests with good communication skills

    Ability to manage the administration of multiple tasks simultaneously

    Extensive knowledge of keeping clean & safe work areas

    Ability to stand for long periods & lift up to 50 pounds

    Skills handling utensils, kitchen, knife skills & kitchen equipment

    Ability to use math skills to weigh, measure & mix ingredients according to recipes

    Knowledge & training of safe food handling

    Needs open schedule availability
