About the Role:
J and L Family Daycare in Chicago, IL is looking for a passionate and nurturing Lead Preschool Teacher to join our growing team! This is a wonderful opportunity to make a lasting impact on young learners in a warm, family-centered environment where every child is valued and celebrated.
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement age-appropriate, developmentally focused curriculum for preschool-aged children
Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment that supports early childhood development
Supervise and guide assistant teachers and classroom aides
Observe and document children's progress, behaviors, and milestones
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding child development and daily activities
Maintain compliance with Illinois childcare licensing regulations and health and safety standards
Organize and lead circle time, structured play, arts and crafts, and other early learning activities
Requirements:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a licensed preschool or daycare setting
Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices
Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Must meet Illinois DCFS background check and licensing requirements
Strong communication, patience, and classroom management skills
Genuine passion for working with young children and supporting families
