Job Details We are seeking a Medical Biller/Collector to join our team to assist us in billing and collecting. The Medical Biller/Collector will demonstrate motivation, initiative, outstanding communication skills for problem solving. You will also assist other departments with follow-up inquiries to clients, communicate with physicians' offices and hospitals to obtain records, and accurately record patient information.
Duties and Responsibilities
Receive and review patients’ charts and documents for verification and accuracy.
Research and analyze data needs for reimbursement.
Sequence codes according to government and insurance regulations.
Ensure all medical records are filed and processed correctly.
Analyze medical records and identify documentation deficiencies.
Review and verify documentation for diagnoses, procedures, and treatment results.
Identify diagnostic and procedural information.
Post charges and payments.
Process claims.
Submit billing data to the appropriate insurance providers.
Resolve denials.
Achieve maximum allowable reimbursement for services provided.
Achieves or exceeds metrics for collection.
Conduct duties in a professional and timely fashion.
Report on various programs and metrics. Provides recommendations, insight, and action steps on issues and not simply report findings.
Requirements and Skills
3+ years of work experience as a Medical Biller/ Collector
Strong computer skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Outstanding organizational skills
Maintains the confidentiality of information.
Qualifications
Communicate complex thoughts in a clear, concise, and timely manner both in written and oral form to all levels of stakeholders.
Work independently with key stakeholders to evaluate business processes and key drivers of operational and business performance.
Anticipate issues, assess implications, and implement/recommend appropriate action plans.
Proactively identify issues and work with Billing Manager to find solutions.
Ability to Commute or Relocate
LEA currently provides services throughout Jacksonville, FL. The primary office is currently located in the 32204 zip code. This is an in-office position and relocation assistance is not provided.
Education
HS Diploma (Required)
Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
Experience
3+ years of work experience as a Medical Biller/ Collector
Knowledge of CPT-4 procedural coding and ICD-10 diagnosis coding
License/Certification/Skills
A valid driver’s license is required prior to appointment and must be maintained during employment in this classification. (Required)
Ophthalmology (Preferred)
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Salary
$40,000 -$45,000 per year as a W-2 Salaried Employee
