    Job Details We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Biller / Coder to join our team to assist us in billing and coding for insurance claims and databases. The Senior Medical Biller / Coder will display motivation, be detail-oriented and have outstanding people skills that help them navigate any situation with ease.

    Identifies diagnostic and procedural information. This could include diagnostic and procedural information, significant reportable elements and significant reportable elements and other complex classifications. Audit clinical documentation to validate that the documentation supports services rendered for reimbursement and reporting. Assigns codes for reimbursements, research and compliance with regulatory requirements utilizing guidelines.

    The Senior Medical Biller / Coder sends invoices to clients and monitors outstanding balances to ensure each account is paid on time and in full. They help our organization keep track of how much money is owed and by whom, managing numerous accounts at once. Responsible for organizing patient medical costs and sending invoices to collect payment from patients and their insurers. Duties include calling patients to discuss payment and develop reasonable payment plans, entering patient data into administrative systems and recording information about outstanding claims.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Confirm that codes are assigned correctly.

    Comply with medical coding guidelines and policies.

    Receive and review patients’ charts and documents for verification and accuracy.

    Account for coding and abstracting of patient encounters.

    Research and analyze data needs for reimbursement.

    Sequence codes according to government and insurance regulations.

    Ensure all medical records are filed and processed correctly.

    Analyze medical records and identify documentation deficiencies.

    Serve as resource and subject matter expert to other coding staff.

    Review and verify documentation for diagnoses, procedures and treatment results.

    Identify diagnostic and procedural information.

    Post charges and payments.

    Process claims to payers.

    Conduct duties in a professional and timely fashion.

    Submit billing data to the appropriate insurance providers.

    Resolve denials.

    Achieve maximum allowable reimbursement for services provided.

    Report on various programs and metrics.

    Conduct reviews and audits.

    Requirements and Skills

    5+ years of work experience as a Medical Biller/Coder

    Strong computer skills

    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

    Outstanding organizational skills

    Maintains the confidentiality of information.

    Qualifications

    Communicate complex thoughts in a clear, concise, and timely manner both in written and oral form to all levels of stakeholders.

    Work independently with key stakeholders to evaluate business processes and key drivers of operational and business performance.

    Anticipate issues, assess implications, and implement/recommend appropriate action plans.

    Proactively identify issues and work with Billing Manager to find solutions.

    Ability to Commute or Relocate

    LEA currently provides services throughout Jacksonville, FL. The primary office is currently located in 32204. This is an in-office position and relocation assistance is not provided.

    Education

    HS Diploma (Required)

    Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

    Experience

    Proficiency with CPT-4 procedural coding and ICD-10 diagnosis coding

    License/Certification/Skills

    Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) (Required)

    A valid driver’s license is required prior to appointment and must be maintained during employment in this classification. (Required)

    Ophthalmology (Preferred)

    MS Word Intermediate (Preferred)

    Salary

    $50,000 -$55,000 per year as a W-2 Salaried Employee.
