    Lexicon Pharmaceuticals is currently searching for a highly collaborative Corporate Counsel to join our team in The Woodlands, Texas or Bridgewater, New Jersey. The position will be located in The Woodlands or New Jersey office and is considered a hybrid role. The selected incumbent will be expected to work in 2-3 days in the office.

    Job Summary:

    The Corporate Counsel will provide general corporate and commercial legal advice and support to internal clients. The primary focus will be to provide legal advice and support in the drafting and negotiation of various contracts and other transactional documents, and generally in the areas of employment law, regulatory affairs and other general corporate matters.

    Qualifications:

    • J.D. from an accredited law school
    • Licensed attorney and active membership and good standing with the State Bar of Texas (other state licenses may be considered)
    • Minimum of 2 -5 years of legal experience preferably as an attorney in a law firm and/or in-house with a pharmaceutical/biotechnology or healthcare company with significant experience in drafting and negotiating preclinical, clinical, manufacturing, commercial and other pharmaceutical industry-related agreements.
    • Knowledge of the U.S. pharmaceutical industry including U.S. pharmaceutical laws, FDA regulations, and industry standards, GDPR, CCPA and privacy laws, and should be able to apply such laws, regulations and standards to inform business activities.
    • Exercises a high degree of judgment in applying the relevant legal framework to a wide variety of questions in complex and nuanced situations.
    • SEC experience is a plus
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively across a matrixed organization
