Job Summary
Reporting to our Food & Beverage Management/Supervisory team, the Restaurant Server professionally provides guests with information about the culinary and beverage selections available, helping guests to navigate the menus, collecting guests’ selections, accurately presenting and serving selected items, ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the experience, and communicating effectively with team members and the management/supervisory team to prevent and resolve any issues. The server will also be responsible for payment processing and assisting in the maintenance of the restaurant area and equipment.
Responsibilities
Know and be able to speak eloquently about the hotel, restaurant, food and beverage offerings, wine, beer, and cocktail selections.
Gain insights into a guest's dining preference through verbal and nonverbal cues, to anticipate the guests' needs.
Be respectful and courteous to all colleagues and guests.
Maintain the ambiance and service standards of the hotel throughout the dining experience.
Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
Must know how to prioritize, delegate, and respond in a timely fashion
Needs to work under pressure, multi-task, and stay focused with constant interruptions
Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording guests' choices, identifying guests' special dietary needs, food allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests.
Flexible schedule - willing and able to work shift duties that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill necessary tasks.
Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length
Qualifications
Education: High school or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Two years of high-end hotel restaurant server experience preferred.
Licenses or Certificates: TIPS and ServSafe Food Handler Certification required.
Grooming: All colleagues must maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance (specific standards will be provided).
