Job Description
Position Summary:
Column Packing Technician 1 is responsible for the manufacturing columns for support of our Oligo program. The employee is responsible for manual and automated column packing, general tooling and equipment set up, and light maintenance including keeping your work area clean. They will also be responsible for maintaining and updating process documentation. This individual must be extremely detail oriented and very quality conscious.
Essential Functions:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
Column Building: The building of all column types, in order to fill both internal and external customer orders in accordance with written processes and methods.
Perform quality spot checks: Complete the quality checks outlined in the process documentation and work with QC personnel to identify and eliminate any quality errors.
Safety and Training: Column Packing Technicians will need to follow all safety guidelines and train other packing technicians on safety guidelines as mandated by LGC. Adherence to company Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) policy.
Maintain an orderly and clean work environment: Column Packing Technician will be responsible for daily and weekly maintenance tasks and cleaning as laid out in work instructions, check lists, and other provided process documentation.
Offer constructive suggestions for process improvement: Column Packing Technician will be expected to provide insights on process and equipment improvements. These suggestions and insights will be part of the employee’s annual review.
Other Duties as Assigned: Responds with flexibility and collaboration to the needs of the business by addressing important corporate initiatives when requested by management.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
1 to 3 years of previous manufacturing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
2-year technical degree
2 years of consumables manufacturing experience

Work environment – Primarily a workshop setting with manufacturing exposure

Handling of hazardous waste – employee receives initial hazardous waste management training when hired to a position that requires managing hazardous waste. Annual refresher training is provided every year he or she remains in that position.
Work environment involves exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following safety precautions and specific personnel training for employees working with hazardous materials and hazardous waste.
