Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will document the company’s financial transactions, prepare financial statements, and manage payroll. The ideal candidate is highly organized, is experienced in QuickBooks, is familiar with government contracts and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) compliance and has a strong understanding of best practices in accounting.
As a Staff Accountant at Liberty Alliance, you will play a critical role in maintaining our financial records, ensuring compliance with government contracts, and supporting the day-to-day accounting operations. Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks
Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets
Ensure compliance with government contracts and DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) regulations
Prepare invoices and billings in accordance with contract terms
Reconcile bank statements and accounts payable/receivable
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Perform account analysis and assist with the audit process
Assist in the preparation of financial documentation for government audits
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve financial and compliance-related issues
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
Previous experience as an accountant, bookkeeper preferably in a government contracting environment
Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). government contracts, and DCAA compliance requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
