Job Summary
Under general supervision, responsible for supervising and assisting group home residents with activities and individual goals.
Minimum Requirements
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Some experience working with individuals with disabilities in a residential setting is preferred.
Other Qualifications
Must possess a valid NC Driver’s License; First Aid and CPR Training; must be certified to administer medication within 90 days of employment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Summary:
Serve as an advocate for Group Home residents, supervising and assisting with their daily activities as they work towards their individual goals; implement instruction by consultants and/or therapists.
Ensure that individuals are engaged and supervised at all times.
Encourage individuals to participate in community activities and encourage peer relationships.
Attend and participate in individual’s doctor visits.
Assess needs; assist residents in personal hygiene (male and/or female).
Complete records and documentation (e.g. daily data collection, progress notes, medication administration records, etc).
Ensure a clean, safe and orderly environment for residents by performing general cleaning and light housekeeping.
Handle emergency situations according to emergency procedures; assist with fire drills.
Assist with meal preparation and clean up, according to OSHA regulations.
Assist with grocery shopping; plan and prepare meals; assist with clean up after meals.
Participate in all team meetings.
Administer medications, as needed.
Work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by program.
