    About our Company

    We are seeking an experienced Director of Banquets to join our team. A successful candidate will have a track record of success in upscale events, a genuine passion for the hospitality industry, and a can-do spirit.

    Responsibilities

    Must be courteous and gracious, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times

    Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel

    Build strong partnerships with guests, coworkers, and outside vendors

    Oversee day-to-day banquet operation and banquet staff.

    Oversee recruiting, managing, training and developing all banquet staff

    Must negotiate and create win-win situations for customers, owners, and employees

    Evaluate and develop processes to maintain and improve performance and productivity

    Work closely with the General Manager of the property to create exceptional events and guest experiences throughout their visit

    Ensure compliance in maintaining standards of health, safety, and sanitation throughout the operation

    Be fluent in P&L analysis; and take ownership of all financial and budgetary data

    Responsible for F&B related costs and budgets ensuring profitable operation including and not limited to Labor, COGS, Operational Expenses, and A&G

    Ensure staff understands their job expectations before holding them accountable.

    Maintain a strong client relationship and ensure that all meeting specifications are communicated to and executed by all hotel operating departments to ensure a successful meeting experience for the planner and attendees.

    Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner.

    Supervise meeting room set-up requirements and ensure proper execution of events.

    Upgrade and upsell menus to maximize hotel revenue.

    To be aware of the forecast and budget., and where we need to fill business into open times. Be profit minded.

    Familiarization with catering's standard operating procedures and adhering to these guidelines.

    Establish and maintain customer contact at all functions.

    To establish clear lines of communication with the culinary team to include executive and banquet chef, as well as the banquet staff, catering service managers, and catering staff.

    Assist with BEO process and confirm details with clients in advance of event.

    Calling or meeting a contact after each function to ensure satisfaction.

    Tracing files to ensure proper finalization of the planned venue.

    Proper credit check to ensure correct payment.

    Conduct training classes for new serving and set-up equipment.

    Monitor quality of service in banquet operation.

    Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health and sanitation regulations.

    Ensure compliance with SOPs in all outlets

    Keep kitchen informed of accurate counts for plating

    Review menu/service with catering managers and banquet chef

    Maintain up to date details on banquet functions and communicate to supervisors.

    Conduct ongoing training of captains/hourly employees to maintain standards of service.

    Monitor liquor inventories and review the requisitions prior to events.

    Core Competencies

    Degree in hospitality preferred

    At least 3 years in a hands-on hospitality management role, supervising employees

    Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word in particular) and POS systems

    Have a working basic knowledge of employment-related federal and state laws

    Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment

    Positive leader who sets a good example

    Ability to train and supervise managers

    Have patience and integrity

    Ability to make evaluative judgments and give constructive criticism

    Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

    Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English Language

    Excellent organizational and time management skills

    Excellent attention to detail

    Work well under pressure, requires being a team player
