We are seeking a dynamic Director of Catering to join our team. A successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Responsibilities
Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel
Utilize all resources available to actively sell Banquet and Catering events, i.e., Delphi, Reader boards, Cold Calls, Inquiries, etc.
Sell within the parameters of the booking window and is actively searching for new business opportunities and customers for the hotel to exceed the annual budget and personal booking goals as directed.
Ensure that function set up meets or exceeds customer expectations by working closely with each client to determine their needs
Ensure proper communication and coordination to satisfy customer's requests
Assist customers in finalizing function details; suggests alternatives as appropriate
Ensure that functions meet the customer's expectations by following up regularly on the status of functions
Inspect function rooms
Greet customer and follows up to see that customer needs are met; makes last-minute changes and additions to meet changing customer needs
Coordinate outside vendor activity as necessary
Conduct post-function reviews with customers
Solicit re-booking from meeting planners prior to customer's departure
Maintain proper documentation of events, including complete programming of all sales and catering bookings
Compile and review daily and weekly event sheets
Conduct quarterly function book audits against room control book and Catering Department files
Audit meeting requirements and space as per contract and ensures compliance to policy
Ensure that all guest room blocks, meeting room blocks, billing procedures, trace dates and any other necessary arrangements are transmitted correctly in the system prior to arrival
Work directly with each department internally to ensure each event is actively communicated to all who are impacted
Give personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing customer service
Listen, apologize with empathy, find a solution and follow through when resolving customer problems
Assume the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses their best judgment to correct it as to when it is appropriate
