    The Event Sales Manager is responsible for generating revenues for all event spaces within the property. The Event Sales Manager works closely with the Sales, Catering, F&B and Brand departments, with the responsibility of keeping the catering operations organized and efficient. This includes handling the preparation before an event such as BEO’s, client relations and internal communication, being present during the event as well as ensuring the administrative components are closed out accurately and timely after the conclusion of the event.

    The person having this position will fulfill a variety of clerical and administrative duties in addition to proactively selling the hotel. This position will have customer contact to ensure needs are communicated and executed. Special projects and assignments will also occur throughout the year to ensure efficient processes are in place to maximize profit and guest satisfaction and to ensure the smooth operation and success of the catering office and hotel team.

    The Event Sales Manager must possess good communication skills, the ability to resolve conflict and have a thorough understanding of LINE policies, procedures and expectations.

    Because of the fluctuating demands of the company’s operation, it may be necessary that each

    employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed. It is important you have flexibility to adjust your schedule depending on the business needs which might including working early, late and in weekends.

    Responsibilities

    Build and foster relationships with clients by creating and coordinating meetings and events.

    Generate detailed BEO’s and communicate with Hotel Department Heads.

    Optimize room rental charges and event upsell opportunities.

    Assist with the monthly forecasting and the annual budget process.

    BEO production, customer correspondence, resume production and servicing of smaller events, working closely with the Catering, Banquets and F&B departments.

    Execute all Brand/Creative Events at hotel working closely with the Brand department

    Handle special projects as requested by the Director of Sales & Marketing.

    Assist Director of Banquets with on-property group servicing.

    Account prospecting, solicitation, and development via telephone, personal contact, outside calls, correspondence, email and other means of communication.

    Conduct event and meeting space site inspections, client entertaiment, and maintain relationships thorough follow up methods.

    Proactively establish preferred partnerships with outside vendors to create benchmark standards, consistency in service and competitive pricing.

    Prepare and present proposals and contracts both written and verbal in a prompt, accurate, profitable, pleasant and professional manner.

    Ensure billing accuracy and conducts bill reviews with the clients prior to processing the final bill.

    Assist when needed with group room blocks and meeting space for groups and events.

    Lead formal pre-event and post-event meetings.

    Establish and maintain good communication and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel.

    Take ownership of all service issues brought to your attention by guests and customers.

    Develop and work from a quarterly action plan that encompasses Account Management, New Business Development and departmental profitability.

    Offer guests an enjoyable experience that conforms to the LINE’s standards of excellence, professionalism and friendliness.

    Requirements

    At least 4+ years of hospitality experience in Sales / Events Operations required.

    Thorough knowledge of sales techniques including excellent selling and negotiating skills with strong market and account knowledge.

    Creative and innovative, as well as proactive and customer oriented.

    Strong organizational and time management skills.

    Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

    Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, has high energy and enjoys working with people.

    Must be positive, result oriented and able to work well under pressure and guidelines.

    Must be able to work well with a diverse group of team members, including Sales Managers, banquet staff, department heads and supervisors.

    Able to handle a large volume of guest interactions in an efficient and courteous manner.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet, Outlook and Delphi are required.
