Job Description

The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks associated with electrical engineering design projects in the Long Island and NYC area. This is a Summer 2023 internship and will be based out of the LKB Syosset Office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Potential work tasks may include assisting with and developing the following:

• Providing engineering support to both Junior and Senior level staff
• Conducting research for client project teams
• Assisting with reports and data extraction 
• Data collection and field measurements of existing field conditions
• Preparing electrical load and voltage drop calculations, panel schedules, feeder, branch circuit, conductor, and conduit sizing
• Preparing interior and exterior lighting calculations and photometrics
• Preparing plans, sketched, diagrams, schematics, and specifications for site and building power, lighting, and control systems

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering 
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Working knowledge of electrical system modeling software such ETAP is a plus
• Experience using AutoCAD and Revit MEP is a plus

The hiring rate for this internship is $18.00 per hour.
