    Job Description

    We have an opening for a summer student who has received their bachelor's degree to work virtually to provide administrative support to the Work-Life/Employee Services and other areas of Strategic Human Resources Management.  You will collaborate with internal and external colleagues, partners and customers, to provide support during peak workload periods and learn multiple fields within Human Resources.  This position is in the Livermore Laboratory Employee Services Association (LLESA) area of HR. This is a summer internship would take place from April/May to July/August 2021. 

    IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL

    • Assist LLESA with the preparation, delivery, and moderation of numerous virtual work-life special events such as:  Parent Education and Caregiver presentations, Fitness Classes, On-line. Tournaments/Competitions, Virtual Games, and other online activities.
    • Facilitate/Host virtual engagement activities.
    • Develop content, layout, and design of marketing materials, presentations, website graphics, e-blasts and other marketing communications utilizing various software such as PowerPoint or Publisher.
    • Improve promotional strategies for work-life programs such as virtual fitness.
    • Provide support re-designing, maintaining, and creating content for LLESA’s website. 
    • Research speakers and programs for future events.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Must have received a bachelor's degree in human resources, recreation/hospitality, event planning, marketing, non-profit management, or related field.
    • Must work effectively with limited supervision in a virtual environment.
    • Experience providing administrative support in a fast-paced environment of rapidly changing priorities, deadlines, and frequent interruptions.
    • Intermediate to advanced experience with personal computers and associated word processing software, e.g., Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, as well as the ability to learn new software.
    • Experience with web-design and digital marketing techniques.
    • Experience developing promotional material and marketing collateral.
    • Experience with virtual meeting/event platforms like Webex, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams.
    • Experience prioritizing and organizing tasks.
    • Experience in a service environment with advanced customer service skills.
    • Strong presentations skills.
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work in a virtual team environment.
