JOB SUMMARY:
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for providing clinical support in an urgent or emergency care setting, ensuring high-quality, individualized care. In addition to typical MA duties, some staff may hold a Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (LMRT) certification and function in a dual role—performing both clinical and radiologic tasks. DUAL ROLE NOTE: Individuals with an LMRT certification will also serve as Medical Assistants. In this hybrid role, they assist with front-line clinical care and perform limited radiographic imaging within their licensed scope of practice. This dual capacity enhances patient throughput and clinic efficiency while maintaining quality and safety standards.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Medical Assistant (MA) will organize, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the plan of care as determined for urgent care patients. In performing his/her professional practice the MA is responsible for maintaining quality cost effectiveness and guest relations. Care will include individualized, holistic, family cantered and safe care. Customer service is a priority and is expected to be a top priority of the MA.
QUALIFICATIONS:
CMA Certificate preferred
Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (preferred for dual role)
Minimum of 1 years emergency room experience, urgent care experience or comparable clinical experience
Current BLS
Strong skills in both oral and written format
Must be flexible and service oriented
Problem solving abilities with the ability to intervene immediately and awareness of changing conditions that may require additional assistance, (Critical-thinking)
