Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) – School-Based Behavioral Health – Floyd, VA
We are looking for a licensed therapist in Floyd County. Floyd sits high in the Blue Ridge at the crossroads of the Crooked Road music trail, with an affordable cost of living and a creative, tight-knit community that draws people from all over. The Blue Ridge Parkway, Buffalo Mountain, and miles of hiking and trout water are minutes from town, while Roanoke, Blacksburg, and Christiansburg are all within an easy drive.
The Position:
We are seeking a full-time Licensed Professional Counselor for a year-round school-based behavioral health role serving elementary, middle, and high school students along with school system staff. The position is embedded in a well-established integrated care model, with clinical oversight from the Behavioral Health Director.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $59,987.20 – $83,553.00 per year
- 20 days PTO in year one, accruing to 27 days

Requirements:
- Master's degree in Counseling from an accredited program
- Licensed as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- BLS/CPR certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Experience providing individual, group, and family therapy
- Comfortable working independently with Behavioral Health Director oversight
- Offer contingent on criminal records check and required testing and immunizations (TB, Hepatitis B consent or waiver, Tdap, MMR, Varicella, and influenza per CDC and Virginia Department of Health guidance)
Preferred:
- Experience with children and adolescents presenting with significant mental, behavioral, and emotional challenges
- School-based or integrated behavioral health experience
- Experience with eClinicalWorks
- Bilingual English/Spanish
Responsibilities:
- Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- No calls for behavioral health providers, no nights, no weekends
- Year-round position
- Provide direct behavioral health care to elementary, middle, and high school students
- Conduct assessments and deliver individual, group, and family therapy
- Coordinate care with medical providers within an established integrated care model
- Deliver services in person or through telemental health as appropriate
- Document care in eClinicalWorks
- Operate in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contracts and grants funding the program
