    In anticipation of future contracts, Qlarant has a contingent opportunity for a Drug Negotiation Subject Matter Expert (SME). This position would be responsible for leading and contributing to the successful performance of the team by supporting and directing the Drug Price Negotiation Support efforts for the Data Analytics and Program Support for Implementation and Operationalization of Medicare Prescription Drug Provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act (DAPS) program. This position will be responsible for the offers to manufacturers and negotiate the price for the selected drugs for which the manufacturer has opted to participate in the Negotiation Program. They would also have responsibility for developing a negotiations strategy, ensuring assigned projects and contracts related to the negotiations are accurate to achieve customer and organizational objectives.

    Please note: This is not an immediate opening. The selected candidate would receive an offer of employment contingent on award of the contract to Qlarant.

    The duties of this position include but are not limited to the following:

    • Leads the overall direction of the drug price negotiations under the contract.
    • Manages the day-to-day operations of assigned projects, as well as inter-project and cross-setting coordination of resources among projects; and contracts including facilitation and communication of resolution of barriers.
    • Provides direction and support to other team members as assigned.
    • Prioritizes, delegates, and accomplishes tasks and programs independently and in a team to ensure successful implementation of goals and objectives.
    • Works with the appropriate stakeholders, manufacturers, drug plans, prescribers, and pharmacies within the pharmacy supply chain to: build partnerships, support data sharing, develop tools and references to support changes in the pharmacy arena.
    • Duties include public engagement and support, strategy development, data analysis, offer development, and negotiation/renegotiation support.
    • Reviews and interprets contract deliverables to ensure timely and accurate completion.
    • Leads the design and application of work plans, as well as coordinating their evaluation and any needed modifications to ensure they reflect project work.
    • Contributes to the conceptual design and implementation of projects, as well as assist with project execution as needed.
    • Develops and responsible for implementing policies, procedures, work instructions, job aids, and other materials to ensure compliance with contract and industry practices.
    • Ensures all project deliverables and timelines are met and reports on variances in a timely manner.
    • Works closely with the client to provide advice on deliverables and work products, policies, regulations, guidance documents, and correspondence.
    • May contribute professional presentations at national pharmacy, medical, and quality organization meetings.

    Required Experience

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, but preferably a Master’s Degree or other advanced/professional degree.
    • At least five years’ years of experience with work directly related to drug price negotiation at the state or federal levels.
    • Strong knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration law, rules and regulations; National Drug Codes; pharmacy benefit managers; the drug supply chain; drug compendia.
