NO UNDERWRITING EXPERIENCE NECESSARY - PAID TRAINING PROVIDED

Our Indirect Underwriting Department is currently seeking reliable and positive individuals with the motivation to learn new skills for the position of Indirect Underwriter. Our Indirect Underwriters decision up to 800 loans per month on various lending platforms following specific lending parameters for our clients. The position will report to the Manager/Supervisor of the Indirect Underwriting.

TRAINING DATES/LOCATION: DATES: July 13th - August 28, 2020

CLASS HOURS: WEEK 1 - 10:00A-4:30P; WEEKS 2-6 -12:00P-6:30P AND 1:30P-8:00P FOR WEEKS 7 & 8; TRAINING IS CONDUCTED MONDAY – FRIDAY ON A PART-TIME BASIS BEFORE TRANSITIONING TO FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME HIRED HOURS

Location: TRAINING WILL BE CONDUCTED IN OUR ELGIN AND NAPERVILLE, IL LOCATIONS (appropriate social distancing/face coverings will be required).

During training you will learn to interpret credit reports and make sound decisions on indirect applications within the Meridian Link platform. Upon successful completion of training, you will assume the role of Indirect Underwriter and will be ready to underwrite loans in the Meridian Link platform. Indirect Underwriters will also be eligible to receive continued training to gain additional skills on 3rd party internet & indirect platforms and become an experienced decision maker!

COMPENSATION & HOURS:

• POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR EVENING SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL (BASE + $2-$3/HR), EVERY WEEKEND SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL (BASE + $5/HR + EVENING DIFFERENTIAL +$2-$3/HR) AND ADDITIONAL MONTHLY INCENTIVE OPPORTUNITIES!
• Weekend shifts are required (Almost 50% of the monthly Indirect volume is handled on the weekends)
• Holiday hours may be required based on business needs; must be flexible to work with departmental needs
• WILLING TO DISCUSS VARIOUS SCHEDULE OPTIONS FOR EVENING AND WEEKEND COVERAGE INCLUDING F/T AND P/T SCHEDULES

(MOST OF OUR INDIRECT LOAN VOLUME COMES IN AFTER 4PM)

• High level of attention to detail – accuracy and quality is important to maintain our successful reputation!

RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN INDIRECT UNDERWRITER INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED:

• Underwrite indirect applications received within client’s loan origination systems within designated goal time following client’s lending criteria
• Negotiate terms and conditions of loan decisions with dealers while maintaining compliance with client lending parameters and company policies
• Ability to identify and handle fraud indicators
• Calculate LTVs and debt ratios
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Split Role - Underwriters will have the ability for additional cross-training opportunities in other skills such as consumer loans, mortgages and financial services.
