    Job Description

    We have an opportunity for an experienced Accountant who is comfortable with working part-time to start.  

    SUMMARY:  To record financial transactions, prepare financial reports, and enter file data in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring excellent financial management and client service at all times.   Client management and review.  Audit preparation.  Workflow review and process improvement where needed.  The ideal candidate will have strong accounting technology skills.

     EXAMPLES OF WORK:

    • Client service support
    • Enter payments in a timely fashion
    • Record receipts and make bank deposits
    • Ensure that receivables are collected promptly
    • Manage accounts payable and ensure payments are made in a timely manner
    • Tag and monitor fixed assets
    • Conduct monthly reconciliations of every bank account
    • Assemble information for external auditors for annual audit
    • Record all financial transactions and create reports
    • Maintain Chart of Accounts
    • Maintain annual budgets as needed
    • Issue financial analysis of financial statements on monthly and as-needed basis
    • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
    • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
    • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues
    • Prepare year-end tax filings, such as 1099
    • Attend meetings pertinent to position
    • Other duties as assigned

     REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Intermediate – to Advanced skill level in QuickBooks and Excel (VLookups/Pivot Tables/Macros)
    • Project Management
    • Process Improvement
    • CPA a plus
    • General knowledge of full-charge bookkeeping and GAAP
    • Intermediate or better skill level with Excel and QuickBooks
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Working knowledge of current technology and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage)
    • Must be able to produce a full set of financial statements through the entering of source documents, subsidiary journals, and adjusting journal entries into the software program, to produce reconciled balances for all balance sheet accounts.

     

    EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

    • Associates degree in accounting or business administration
    • Three to five years working in an accounting or full-charge bookkeeping role
    • Non-profit experience a plus
    • Accounting in an E-Commerce environment a plus
