    Banquet Sales and Event Coordinator

    Immediate Supervisor:

    Director of Operations

    Objective:

    The Banquet Sales & Event Coordinator is responsible for maximizing group events for banquet revenues by creating and implementing sales plans for weddings, banquets, and parties.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Achieve the sales/profit goals of Landrace Group’s events operation at the Hyatt Centric Hotel.
    • Lead banquet staff during events
    • Build and maintain an events prospect database, track all communications and activities with those prospects, forecast revenue, and record all sales made.
    • Respond to prospective inquiries, conduct tours and meetings for prospective events, and sell events.
    • Oversee the development/preparation of contracts for all banquets/weddings.
    • Work with the ownership to determine selling prices and menus for events.
    • Coordinate with the Executive Chef to plan menus, product and supply orders and staff in a timely fashion.
    • Schedule all banquet event functions, price and prepare event proposals, and collect signed contracts and deposits.
    • Provide excellent food and beverage service for all events.
    • Ensure satisfaction by communicating with the client throughout the event regarding any changes, substitutions, or special requests; and following up with the event host at the conclusion of the event.
    • Help develop banquet sales budgets and marketing plans.
    • Participate in outside activities that are judged appropriate by the Director of Operations to enhance the presence of the property in the local community.

    Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements:

    • Must have 3-5 years of related experience in event coordination/catering sales.
    • Superior sales skills in prospecting, communication, and closing.
    • Must have supervisory experience.
    • Must have excellent interpersonal/relationship skills.
    • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Must be highly organized, efficient, and detail oriented.

    Salary:

    • Base Salary: 60,000 + Commission
