    Our client located in South Boston is looking to hire an Accountant on a direct hire basis. This position is on site so you must be comfortable with commuting to the location on a daily basis. This position has the possibility of growth. Our client is a smaller credit union that has been established for over 100 years. Must have CREDIT UNION EXPERIENCE or must come out of a smaller bank.

    JOB TITLE: Accountant

    In this role, under the direction of the Controller, perform numerous accounting duties including daily bank account reconciliations and monthly reconciliations of several General Ledger accounts. Assist with other accounting, reporting and compliance duties.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (Includes but not limited to)

    Maintain various assigned GL accounts.

    Prepare Eascorp Reconciliation.

    Research outstanding checks and follow-up with members if necessary.

    Analyze and prepare monthly reconciliations for all bank accounts.

    Analyze and prepare reconcilements on various General Ledger accounts.

    Research and assist in the resolution of outstanding items on the reconciliations.

    Assist in the preparation of monthly retirement contributions.

    Prepare required Board reports.

    Prepare Statement of Condition.

    Ensure notification to the proper regulatory authorities relative to BSA, AML and OFAC matches.

    Assist with research and preparation of financial data.

    Perform other duties as required or assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS

    · BA/BS in Accounting or Finance.

    Two years general ledger accounting experience.

    3 to 7 years experience in financial institution accounting either in a financial institution or public accounting firm.

    Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP, CU regulations, legislation and financial reporting.

    Previous experience with external auditors, preferably with NCUA and State examiners.

    Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to talk with non-financial people.

    Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously and produce the desired results.

    PC proficient, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and the Internet as well as other spreadsheets and financial analysis programs.

    Compensation is based upon experience, range is $65k-90k plus a full benefits package.
