    Our client located in South Boston is looking to hire a Director of Retail on a direct hire basis. This position is on site so you must be comfortable with commuting to the location on a daily basis. This position is newly created so they are looking for someone with management experience. This is a smaller credit union that has been established for over 100 years. Must have CREDIT UNION or BANKING EXPERIENCE.

    JOB TITLE: Director of Retail

    The Director of Retail is primarily responsible for the management of the Credit Union branches to ensure efficient branch operations, a consistent member service experience and compliance with existing regulations and policies for all branches. Focus will be placed on balancing service expectations with risk, compliance and retail service/sales goals. The Director of Retail will coach, inspire, motivate, and evaluate branch personnel performance in achievement of performance goals.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (Includes but not limited to)

    · Develop and measure operational initiatives to optimize branch performance and achieve strategic initiatives.

    · Direct, measure, and evaluate work/service levels of branch personnel to ensure a common member experience through coaching, mentoring, and cross-training.

    · Oversee all Branch locations including the management of the Branch Managers roles with regard to all aspects of branch accountabilities, standards and routines.

    · Working with the Senior Management, develop and implement relevant corporate sales plans and revenue programs, which include operational tactics, measurements and incentives to meet revenue goals and profitability objectives. Communicate goals and direction to all retail services employees to ensure clear understanding of rules, regulations, requirements and expectations.

    · Assist in the development of training programs to fulfill member service experiences and sales activity consistent with City of Boston Credit Union’s strategic plan.

    · Assist with interviews, hire, manage time off and review performance of direct reports.

    · Ensure our branch locations adhere to security and audit compliance standards.

    · Analyze, update and evaluate effectiveness of operational policies and procedures, while working cross functionally to improve efficiencies throughout Branch network.

    · Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Fair Lending and Credit Card Act.

    · Assist branches with loan process, evaluating applications and approving or rejecting according to assigned authority. Work closely with Lending Department ensuring sound loan decisions.

    · Collaborate with Member Service Operations to improve efficiencies and compliance.

    · Ensure Branch procedures comply with all Federal, State, and network rules and regulations, develop expertise, and maintain internal controls of the various plastic card systems, maintain sensitive and confidential information; exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with highly sensitive, complex, and confidential issues and situations, maintain appropriate operating controls to mitigate risk. This includes annual review of all policies and procedures with revisions and proper communication as needed.

    · Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    · Recommend budgets to Senior Management relative to the physical, human resource, and other costs of Branch network. Through the budget process, effectively allocate production goals for loan and ancillary products and other activities for areas of responsibility.

    · Other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS

    · Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent working experience

    · Minimum 7 years’ experience in a retail banking leadership role; preferably with multi-branch management

    · At least 5 years’ in-depth experience with a heavy focus in retail operations, lending, and direct member or customer service

    · Proven results in leadership, development, hiring and managing multiple teams

    · Effective organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.

    · Proven results in sales, service and operations including meeting or exceeding set objectives

    · Demonstrates ability to communicate written and verbal skills.

    · Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.

    · Requires independent thinking

    · Possess a strong sense of urgency. Effectively sets priorities, allocates resources, takes accountability, and achieves results.

    · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

    · Highly ethical.

    Compensation is based upon experience, range is $125k-150k plus a full benefits package.
