    Our client located in South Boston is looking to hire a BSA Officer on a direct hire basis. This position is on site so you must be comfortable with commuting to the location on a daily basis. This is a smaller credit union that has been established for over 100 years. Must have CREDIT UNION or BANKING experience.

    JOB TITLE: BSA Officer

    The BSA Officer for the Credit Union will function, as the BSA/AML Officer. He/She will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance functions performed throughout the Credit Union.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (Includes but not limited to)

    · Review & enhance the end-to-end BSA/AML program for the credit union to meet all regulatory expectations from Federal, State and Local Authorities.

    · Responsible for daily monitoring of alerts processing and case reviews and analysis of various reports and transaction data to identify trends, unusual or suspicious activity, and/or significant changes in account activity.

    · Manage the Member Identification Program (MIP) due diligence and establish thresholds for Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for adequate KYC coverage in tune with the size, complexity and profile of the CU and its member population.

    · Ensure members are appropriately risk rated. Maintain the list of high-risk members with ongoing monitoring reviews.

    · Review Currency Transaction Report (CTR) processing to ensure completeness, accuracy, timeliness and compliance.

    · Ensure SAR’s, CTR’s and other related BSA/AML reports are reported to the appropriate authorities and BOD within the required timelines.

    · Responsible for SARs filings, Amendments, closing false positives, review of cases, insider activities and maintain accurate supporting documentation of all SARs filed or investigations and SARs were not filed.

    · Manage and enhance automated solutions to ensure that the credit union complies with its detection, investigation and reporting activities under BSA, AML, OFAC, Fin CEN, Patriot Act, Sanctions Screening, Sec 314 (a) requirements including identifying system issues (and internal testing), coordinating periodic software upgrades and researching updates.

    · Develop collaborative relationships with all departments, corporate functions to educate the staff about the BSA/AML compliance areas as well as develop partnerships across functions to ensure adequate and appropriate information sharing.

    · Develop, Review and implement mandatory BSA/AML training to all staff members.

    · On an annual basis, train the Senior Management Team & the Board of Directors on their responsibilities for the BSA/AML risk of the organization.

    · Ensure appropriate documentation is maintained and available for internal/external audits and legal requests.

    · Develop, revise and review Credit Union policies, procedures, disclosures, notices and forms to comply with legislative and regulatory changes or new requirements as it pertains to BSA/AML.

    · Responsible for the annual BSA Risk Assessment and required policy updates.

    · Assist with Compliance throughout the credit union

    · Maintains confidentiality and ensures timely filings.

    · Lead by example, including maintaining high ethics and practicing strong leadership skills.

    · Maintains strong knowledge of Credit Union operations, products & services as they pertain to the Credit Union’s risk profile.

    · Travel and work at other locations as required.

    · Other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS

    · 5 year or more years of direct experience as a BSA Officer/Compliance in a financial institution.

    · Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, finance, accounting, risk management or a related field, from an accredited college/university preferred

    · Must have a solid understanding of BSA, AML, OFAC, Fin CEN, Patriot Act, Sanctions Screening, Sec 314 (a)

    · CAMS and CFE certifications a plus

    · Excellent analytical skills.

    · Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.

    · Ability to exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive and significant matters.

    · Proven initiative to be a self-starter and proactive approach.

    · Requires independent thinking

    · Ability to work and interact well in an optimistic manner with others.

    · Highly ethical.

    Compensation is based upon experience, range is $110-120k plus a full benefits package.
