    Bienvivir All-Inclusive Senior Health (“Bienvivir”) is a community-based, patient-centered, comprehensive health care delivery system that advocates and promotes quality of life, optimum independence, dignity, and choices in a nurturing environment for frail seniors. Since 1987, Bienvivir has served the frail seniors of El Paso, Texas through the provision of the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (“PACE”).

    PACE is a unique managed care benefit for frail seniors (referred to as participants) age 55 and older who are certified by the state as needing nursing home level care and who reside in a PACE service area. PACE programs coordinate and provide comprehensive medical and support services so that participants can remain independent and stay in their homes for as long as safely possible.

    Bienvivir is currently accepting applications for the following position:

    INFECTION CONTROL NURSE LVN

    Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing (DON), the Infection Control Nurse LVN is responsible for assisting with the Infection Control program and conducting occupational health duties. The LVN will track and document communicable infections in both participants and employees, assist in coordinating vaccination clinics, administering vaccinations, record keeping, coordination and testing employees for COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, and provide and review training material to staff.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Researches and identifies relevant resources on infection control appropriate for PACE functions.

    2. As directed by the DON and the ADON, incorporates all CDC and local public health mandates and guidelines as appropriate to PACE operations by providing input to develop protocols, instructional curriculum, and operating procedures.

    3. Assists the DON by implementing the curriculum, protocols, and operating procedures as appropriate to all levels of health workers and the general employee population to ensure full understanding and demonstrated skills acquisition. Provides continued guidance to staff as needed.

    4. Provides infection control teaching to employees.

    5. Applies auditing tools developed by the DON.

    6. Communicates with department managers, supervisors, and contractors to review identified infection risk factors.

    7. Assists the DON in developing policies, procedures, and SOPs as necessary to establish approved protocols for training and auditing of staff.

    8. Tracks and documents all cases of employee and participant communicable infections.

    9. Assist in coordinating employee vaccinations to include administration of vaccines and record keeping

    10. Coordinating employee COVID-19 testing and conducting testing if needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

    1. A graduate of an accredited nursing program with a license to practice in the state of Texas as a Vocational Nurse.

    2. One year of related or relevant experience preferred.

    3. One year of experience with a frail or elderly population is preferred.
